Our Story, Your Tradition

A legacy of rustic simplicity, community, and connection

From Len-Kay to Barrington Shores

Camping on these shores is a tradition that stretches back decades. While we know families have been making memories here since the 1960s, our recorded history began in 1968 when the property was established as Len-Kay Campground.

In 1994, the property evolved into Barrington Shores, but the spirit of the original camp remains. Since taking ownership in 2011, Todd Green has followed in the footsteps of the owners before him by investing in the land to ensure it thrives for future generations. Just recently, for the 2025 season, we completed a major three-year expansion project. We carefully carved out 37 new sites in a previously undeveloped part of the campground. This project is Todd’s contribution to the campground’s enduring story, a permanent improvement that preserves the land's legacy.

Managed by husband-and-wife team Tim McClain & Breanna Ostrander since 2017, we remain committed to a simple philosophy. We are not a modern resort, so you won't find endless itineraries here. Instead, we offer the same rustic, laid-back atmosphere where the sense of community takes center stage, just as it has since the Len-Kay Camping Area days.

Community First

Our greatest amenity is our people. We foster a genuine sense of community where neighbors become lifelong friends.

A Lakeside Legacy

From the early days of Len-Kay to our newest expansion, we are proud stewards of this land, and we are preserving it for generations to come.
