Notice: These rules are in place to ensure the safety, comfort, and enjoyment of all our guests. Failure to follow these guidelines may result in the termination of your stay without refund.

1. Reservation & Cancellation Policies

Reservation & Payment Requirements

To guarantee a reservation, a deposit must be received within 48 hours of booking. For stays of three nights or less, full payment is required upfront. For stays of four nights or longer, a 50% deposit is required, with the remaining balance due upon check-in.

Site Selection Policy

To accommodate scheduling for extended stays, we cannot guarantee specific site or cabin selection for reservations of six nights or less. While we make every effort to honor specific requests, management reserves the right to move short-term bookings to comparable sites if necessary to accommodate longer reservations.

Cabin Security Deposit

For cabin rentals, a $200 security deposit is required at check-in. Guests may fulfill this requirement by keeping a credit card on file (which is only charged if damage occurs or items are missing) or by paying a $200 cash deposit. Cash deposits are fully refunded upon a successful inspection of the cabin at check-out.

Cancellation Policy

To receive a full refund of payments (less a $10 processing fee), we require 21 days' notice for cabins and 14 days' notice for campsites. For reservations re-booked a year in advance, the initial $50 holding deposit is non-refundable; any additional payments made (such as the March 1st payment) will be eligible for a refund according to these standard notification windows.

No refunds are provided for shortened stays. If you must cancel with less than the required notice, your payments are non-refundable but may be transferred as a credit toward a future stay through the following camping season. This transfer is a one-time courtesy. Reservation credits cannot be refunded or transferred a second time if the rescheduled booking is cancelled. Only original reservations cancelled with proper notice are eligible for monetary refunds.

Re-Booking for Next Season

Current guests have the first right of refusal to book their same site and dates for the following year. To secure your spot, a $50 deposit is required per site, per week (or per stay for shorter reservations) by check-out. The remaining balance (or 50% deposit) is due by March 1st; reservations with unpaid balances after this date will be released.

Because re-booking allows you to hold a site with a minimal deposit, the $50 re-booking deposit is non-refundable. If you cancel a specific week or site, the $50 deposit attached to that specific time period is forfeited and serves as the cancellation fee; it cannot be applied to the balance of your remaining reservation. You may, however, move your reservation to different dates (subject to availability) without penalty, in which case your deposit will transfer.

2. Check-In, Gate Access & Departures

Arrival and Departure Times

Check-in time begins at 2:00 PM for all reservations. Check-out time is 1:00 PM for campsites and 10:00 AM for cabins.

We ask that guests plan to arrive between 2:00 PM and 6:00 PM; if you expect to arrive after 6:00 PM, please contact the office in advance to make arrangements. Upon arrival, please check in at the office immediately and do not block the main gate.

Early and Late Requests

We are unable to accommodate early check-in or late check-out requests without prior approval. All requests are subject to availability and incur a fee ($30 for campsites, $50 for cabins). Due to limited space, we cannot permit campers to park in the driveway before 2:00 PM on their check-in day.

Gate Access and Deposits

Our front security gate is enforced 24/7. We do not provide gate-side service; you must use a valid gate card to enter the property. A $20 gate card deposit is required at check-in. You may fulfill this by leaving a card on file (which is only charged if the gate card is not returned) or by paying a $20 cash deposit, which is refunded upon the card’s return.

Early Departure and Drop-Box Procedures

If you plan to check out before the office opens, please place your cabin keys and gate cards in the black dropbox located outside the front office door. Envelopes and pens are provided next to the box; please place your card in an envelope, write your last name and site number on the outside, and deposit it into the box.

Cash Deposit Returns for Early Departures

If you paid a cash deposit (for a gate card or cabin security) and depart before the office opens, you will not receive your refund at that time because we cannot perform cabin inspections or process cash transactions outside of business hours. To retrieve your deposit, you must either return to the campground during office hours or email barringtonshores@gmail.com with your full name and mailing address to have a check issued within 30 days. To avoid this delay, we highly recommend using the card-on-file method if you anticipate an early departure, or returning your gate card to the office before closing on the night prior to your departure.

3. Guest Fees, Visitors & Occupancy

Occupancy Limits and Rates

Base rates for campsites and rentals include admission for two adults and four children. Total occupancy is strictly limited to a maximum of six people per site, of which no more than four may be adults. Any additional adults or children beyond the included base rate (up to the six-person limit) must register as guests and are subject to the applicable guest fees.

Guest Registration and Fees

All visitors must register at the office upon arrival, pay the required fee, and park in designated guest parking. Guest fees are $15 for adults (18+) and $10 for children (4–17). This fee covers admission from arrival until 1:00 PM the following day.

Guests departing before 6:00 PM on their day of arrival are eligible for a $5 refund; guests staying less than one hour are eligible for a full refund.

Guest Policy Restrictions

Guests are not permitted on the property unless the registered camper is present. Guest passes are non-transferable and cannot be exchanged. For example, you may not pay one fee and have different people "swap" places using that single pass; every individual person entering the campground must register and pay their own fee. Only adults are permitted to register guests to a campsite.

Gate Security and Enforcement

Visitors must not enter the campground without properly registering at the office, regardless of who provides access. It is strictly prohibited for a camper to meet a guest outside the gate to provide a gate card or to open the gate for an unregistered vehicle. These actions are considered an attempt to defraud an innkeeper and will result in the immediate revocation of your camping reservation without refund.

Revocation of Reservation

The Recreational Campground reserves the right to revoke a reservation at any time, with or without cause, at the sole discretion of management. Grounds for revocation include, but are not limited to: providing false or misleading information during registration, violation of campground rules and policies, or violation of any city, town, state, or federal laws.

4. Vehicle Rules, Parking & Golf Cart Policy

STRICT SPEED LIMIT: 5 MPH

For the safety of our guests, children, pets, and staff, the speed limit is strictly 5 MPH on all campground roads. Drivers must be alert for pedestrians at all times. Safety is our top priority. Guests who repeatedly violate the speed limit create a hazard for others and will be asked to leave the campground immediately. No refunds will be provided for evictions based on safety violations.

Motor Vehicle and Parking Rules

Only persons with a valid driver’s license may operate a motor vehicle within the campground. Unregistered motor vehicles are not permitted on the property.

All vehicles must be parked either in the driveway of your assigned campsite or in a designated parking space; parking on lawns, grassy areas, or in a manner that blocks roads is strictly prohibited. You may not park at another guest’s site without their permission.

Overflow parking areas are provided only for the duration of your reservation. Vehicles may not be stored or parked in overflow areas before check-in or after check-out.

Bicycles, E-Bikes, and Scooters

Riding is prohibited after sunset. E-bikes and pedal-assist bicycles must be operated at a safe speed not exceeding 5 MPH on all campground roads and paths. Traditional bicycles must also be operated with caution at all times.

All riders must share the road responsibly with vehicles and pedestrians and use extra caution near the office, playgrounds, and entrance. Helmets are strongly encouraged and may be required for minors under New Hampshire law. Parents and guardians are responsible for their children's actions and must ensure they ride safely and follow these rules. Failure to comply may result in the loss of riding privileges or revocation of your camping reservation.

Prohibited Motorized Items

To ensure safety and minimize noise, motorized toys such as RC cars, Power Wheels, electric scooters, and similar items are not permitted anywhere within the campground. Additionally, golf carts and other off-road vehicles (ATVs/UTVs) are strictly prohibited on campground property under any circumstances, even if the vehicle is "road legal" and possesses a valid registration or license plate.

5. Campsite Standards, Maintenance & Utilities

Campsite Cleanliness and End-of-Stay Cleanup

Campers are responsible for keeping their assigned campsite clean, orderly, and free of litter and clutter. Sites must not be used to store excess equipment, building materials, or broken furniture. Upon departure, campsites and cabins must be left free of garbage and debris, and picnic tables must be returned to their original position. Leaving a site or cabin in an un-rentable condition will result in a cleaning fee ($25 for campsites, $50 for cabins).

Dumpster Usage and Prohibited Items

Please place all recycling and garbage in the dumpsters located near the entrance. Cardboard boxes must be broken down before disposal.

Dumpsters are for standard household waste only; the disposal of construction materials, furniture, appliances, hazardous materials, paint, large tarps, or boat covers is strictly prohibited. Bringing trash from outside the campground (e.g., from home or work vehicles) is a serious violation and will result in the immediate revocation of your reservation.

Site Alterations and Views

Altering the campsite in any way—including cutting trees or vegetation, relocating fire rings, or moving water lines—is strictly prohibited. Management reserves the right to inspect sites and adjust boundaries based on operational needs.

Additionally, the campground does not guarantee specific views or sightlines (such as water views), as these may be affected by natural growth or neighboring structures. Obstructed views do not constitute grounds for complaints, refunds, or reservation credits.

Utilities and Electric Service

Your reservation includes 30A/20A electric service, water, basic cable television, wireless internet access, and dumpster access. These services are provided "as is" without guarantee of uninterrupted service.

Regarding electricity, our 30-amp service is designated for travel trailers and is considered a high priority for restoration should an outage occur; we will attempt to repair it as soon as conditions and staffing allow. The 20-amp GFCI outlet is provided as a courtesy; repairs to this circuit are considered lower priority and will be addressed during regular business hours based on availability.

Water Usage and Leaks

Water must be used responsibly. Pressure washing vehicles, filling large pools, using sprinklers, or setting up slip-and-slides is strictly prohibited. If a leak occurs due to a faulty hose or connection on your trailer, water service will be disconnected until the equipment is repaired or replaced. Repeated abuse of water, electric, or other included services may result in the revocation of your reservation.

Waste Disposal and Pump-Out Policy

The discharge of gray water, black water, or chemicals onto the ground or into the lake is strictly prohibited. Pump-outs are included for reservations of four nights or more and are available every 72 hours upon request between 9:00 AM and 3:00 PM. Additional pump-outs are available for a $20 fee. Please note that pump-outs may not be scheduled on your day of check-in or check-out.

The dump station is available for use anytime during your stay, and we encourage guests to consider using a portable holding tank for added convenience and flexibility.

Restrooms

Please help us keep our restrooms clean. Do not wash clothes or dishes in the sinks. Children under six years of age must be accompanied by an adult. Please report any condition that requires our attention immediately.

6. Campfire Safety & Firewood Regulations

Campfire Regulations

Campfires are permitted but must remain small, contained, and safely managed at all times; bonfires and oversized fires are strictly prohibited. To ensure the safety and quiet of the campground, the final piece of wood must be placed on the fire by 11:00 PM, and all fires—including propane fireplaces—must be fully extinguished by 12:00 AM.

Only clean, untreated natural firewood or kiln-dried firewood is permitted for burning. The burning of trash, plastic, pressure-treated wood, painted or stained lumber, plywood, or any other material prohibited by fire regulations is strictly forbidden.

Firewood Restrictions

To prevent the spread of invasive pests and comply with New Hampshire state law, untreated firewood originating from outside New Hampshire is strictly prohibited. Out-of-state firewood is only permitted if it is kiln-dried and clearly labeled as such. We strongly encourage campers to purchase firewood from the campground store or a local vendor to ensure compliance. The campground reserves the right to restrict any outside firewood to protect the property and environment. Campers agree to indemnify the campground for any loss or liability resulting from the use of prohibited firewood.

Prohibited Devices and Fireworks

Fireworks, explosive devices, and incendiary items—including sky lanterns, roman candles, and firecrackers—are strictly prohibited on campground property. The sole exception to this ban is traditional hand-held sparklers. Any item that emits a significant display, sound, or airborne effect beyond a basic sparkler is considered a prohibited firework.

Additionally, the use of flammable novelty items such as flame projectors, high-output torches, or homemade fire devices is not allowed. Any camper found violating these fire safety rules is subject to the immediate revocation of their reservation and removal from the property.

7. Quiet Hours & Conduct Policy

Quiet Hours Policy

Quiet hours are strictly enforced from 11:00 PM to 7:00 AM. During this time, noise must be kept to a minimum to ensure a peaceful environment for all guests. Outside radios, televisions, and other sound-producing devices must be turned off entirely.

Music or noise originating from inside RVs or trailers must be kept at a volume that cannot be heard from neighboring sites or the road; any noise audible outside the camper during quiet hours is considered a violation. Additionally, all bright lights must be dimmed or turned off by 11:30 PM.

Enforcement and Security

Camping privileges may be revoked for excessive noise after 11:00 PM at the discretion of security staff or management. If excessive noise is observed or reported after 11:30 PM, the involved group will be required to disperse and return to their campsites immediately. Continued violations will result in the revocation of your camping reservation. For after-hours assistance regarding noise or safety, please contact campground security at (978) 346–5496.

Code of Conduct and Staff Interaction

All campers, guests, and visitors are expected to behave in a respectful and responsible manner. Harassment, aggression, vandalism, theft, or any conduct that disturbs the peace is strictly prohibited.

Disrespectful or argumentative behavior toward staff enforcing rules will not be tolerated. Failure to cooperate with security or management is grounds for immediate removal and reservation revocation. Serious violations or repeated misconduct may result in a permanent ban from the property.

Camper Responsibility and Supervision

Campers are fully responsible for the behavior of everyone using their campsite, including family members and guests. Parents and guardians must supervise their children at all times and are financially responsible for any damage caused to campground facilities or other campers' property. All children must return to their own campsite by 11:00 PM. The campground reserves the right to restrict access to amenities for any child found causing damage or misusing facilities.

8. Beach, Swimming & Boating Rules

Beach Etiquette and Property

Our beaches and swimming areas are shared amenities that must be used with safety and fairness in mind. Beach space is available on a first-come, first-served basis; reserving or "saving" spots for yourself or others is not permitted.

Personal property, including chairs and umbrellas, may not be left on the beach overnight or when not actively in use. Large tents and canopies are allowed only while they are being used and cannot be left to hold a spot.

To ensure safety, pets are not permitted on the beach at any time, and throwing games (such as frisbee or football) are prohibited on the beach and in the water.

Swimming Safety

Swimming is permitted only in designated areas and at the camper’s own risk. Children must be supervised by an adult at all times while in or near the water.

Please use the floating swim raft respectfully; monopolizing the raft, horseplay, and diving are strictly prohibited. To ensure enough space for everyone, large multi-person inflatables and oversized floats are not allowed within the swim lines. Swimming is strictly prohibited after dark. While guests are welcome to sit on the beach for stargazing in the evening, no one may enter the water after sunset.

Boats: "Clean, Drain, Dry"

Help us protect the water we all enjoy! All campers bringing boats must follow the "Clean, Drain, Dry" method. Please arrive with your boat and trailer cleaned of all mud and plant matter, fully drained of water, and completely dried before launching.

Boat and Trailer Storage

Boats and trailers may be stored on your assigned campsite at any time. A designated area for temporary empty trailer storage is available by request; use of this area requires prior management approval and is limited to a maximum of 7 days. Empty trailers may not be stored in overflow parking lots or common areas.

Additionally, boats that are not fit for use or have expired registrations may not be stored on the property. Jet Skis are not permitted to be stored, docked, or moored anywhere on campground property.

9. Pets & Wildlife

Pet Policy

Dogs are strictly prohibited on all beaches and inside any campground buildings. Pets must be kept on a leash at all times when outdoors and may never be left unattended. Owners are fully responsible for their pets; they must be non-aggressive and must not become a nuisance to neighbors.

You must clean up after your pet immediately, regardless of where they are on the property. Proof of current rabies vaccination must be provided upon request. Visitors are not permitted to bring pets onto campground property. Management reserves the right to prohibit admission to any pet or require the removal of a pet from the campground at its discretion.

Wildlife and Environmental Responsibility

Campers must not feed, harass, pursue, or interfere with any wildlife. This includes avoiding actions that intentionally or unintentionally attract animals, such as leaving out food waste or unsecured garbage. All wildlife is protected; any violation of this policy may result in the revocation of your reservation, a possible permanent ban from the property, and potential referral to local or state authorities.

Environmental Protection and Conservation

Damaging, removing, or altering any natural features—including trees, vegetation, rocks, or soil—is strictly prohibited. Campers must not disturb environmentally sensitive areas such as wetlands, wildlife habitats, or erosion-prone slopes. Please stay on designated paths and comply with all posted environmental protection measures.

10. Legal, Liability & General Policies

Liability and Hold Harmless Agreement

The camper acknowledges that camping inherently involves risks. The Recreational Campground provides the site or cabin but does not assume responsibility for the security of the camper’s person or property; campers accept full responsibility for any lost, damaged, or stolen belongings.

Furthermore, the camper assumes all risks associated with the use of campground equipment and facilities by themselves, their family, and their guests. By staying on the property, the camper agrees to indemnify and hold harmless the Recreational Campground from any loss, liability, or expense arising from such use.

Privacy, Media, and Intellectual Property

Guest privacy is paramount; photography or videography capturing other guests, their campsites, or their children without consent is strictly prohibited. The use of drones (UAVs) is not permitted anywhere on campground property without prior written authorization.

Additionally, campground grounds and amenities may not be used for commercial photography, influencer marketing, or brand promotion without express written consent. The campground’s name and logo are intellectual property and may not be used in any media or merchandise without prior approval.

Recreational Use and Residency Restrictions

This reservation grants temporary recreational use only, valid strictly from the designated check-in time on your arrival date through the designated check-out time on your departure date. The Recreational Campground is not a manufactured housing park or a permanent residence; this reservation is a camping permit, not a lease, and conveys no tenancy rights. Establishing permanent residency is strictly prohibited. Consequently, mail and packages may not be delivered to the campground; please use off-site pickup options. Any attempt to use the campground address for residential purposes may result in the immediate revocation of your reservation.

Safety and Emergency Compliance

Basic first aid supplies are available at the office during business hours, though we encourage campers to maintain a personal first aid kit at their site. During emergencies, campers and guests must strictly follow instructions from emergency personnel and campground staff. Failure to comply with these directives may result in immediate removal from the property and revocation of the camping reservation.

Operational Changes and Amenities

The availability of amenities, activities, and the duration of the camping season are subject to change without notice due to weather, natural disasters, staffing, equipment failure, or public health concerns (e.g., lake advisories). Services such as wireless internet, cable television, and recreational programs are provided as complimentary courtesies with no cash value; no refunds or compensation will be issued if these are modified, suspended, or discontinued. Similarly, the campground is not responsible for disruptions caused by third-party vendors. Management reserves the right to reschedule or cancel events based on demand or operational considerations.
